Recent Research on Formulation Development of Bcs Class Ii Drugs – a Review
نویسنده
چکیده
BCS class II drugs pose challenging problems in their pharmaceutical product development process because of their low solubility and dissolution rates. They require enhancement in solubility and dissolution rate in their formulation development especially solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules. Several conventional methods and new emerging technologies have been developed for formulation development of BCS class II drugs. Literature on these methods as well as recent research on formulation development of BCS class II drugs is reviewed in this article.

A Hybrid Intelligent System for Formulation of Bcs Class Ii Drugs in Hard Gelatin Capsules
In this paper, we describe a hybrid intelligent system for formulation of BCS Class II drugs in hard gelatin capsules. Several significant challenges are involved in drugformulation: the active ingredients and the fillers in the capsule must be chemically compatible according to biopharmaceutical principles; the formulation must be manufacturable; and it must meet the prescribed drug delivery r...

The main objective of present research work is to formulate the Clopidogrel Fast Dissolving tablets. Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet drug, belongs to BCS Class-II and used to control Heart attack, Hypertension by inhibiting Platelet activation and aggregation .The Fast Dissolving tablets of Clopidogrel were prepared employing different concentrations of Crospovidone and Croscarmellose sodium in di...
متن کاملNanoparticle Technology: Formulating Poorly Water-soluble Compounds: a Review
One of the biggest challenges faced by pharmaceutical scientists is poor solubility and bioavailability of new chemical entities (NCEs). According to BCS classification; approximately 25% of all compounds are classified as highly soluble and permeable. Nearly 40% of the new chemical entities currently being discovered are lipophilic so poorly water soluble drugs. BCS Class II and Class IV have ...

Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have shown great potential in improving drug delivery of poorly water soluble (BCS class II, IV) and poorly permeable (BCS class III, IV) drugs, as well as facilitating successful delivery of unstable compounds. The nanoparticle technology would allow improved treatment by reducing adverse reactions of currently approved drugs and possibly reintroducing pr...

Oral drug delivery is considered as the most preferable route for chronic treatment of various diseases, due to its greater stability, flexibility in formulation, dosage accuracy, low cost of manufacturing and packaging and patient friendly administration [1]. But most of the drugs belong to poorly water soluble (BCS Class II) category and suffering from poor dissolution and it is worst if give...
